Pound Visits

What our pound visits are for…

With the number of abandoned and relinquished dogs being higher than ever before, the pressure on rescues has never been greater - the rehoming situation at present is, and will likely be in crisis for the foreseeable future due to the lockdown boom in the number of pet dogs, as well as the cost of living crisis that has ensued since.

Working with the local pound, Rescue Me conducts visits in order to provide assessments, videos and pictures to our network of charities that may be able to help these dogs, and offer them a placement within their rescue. Rescue Me focuses on dogs that are in need of palliative care, veterinary treatment, as well as vulnerable puppies.

Providing these assessments means that a dog has a much higher chance of finding a placement within a rescue, due to having much more information than the pound usually are able to give.

Over 500 dogs in the last year (2023) have benefitted from our visits, being placed with a number of charities throughout the UK.
